Social projects

The social responsibility of Global Omnium/Grupo Aguas de Valencia is a real responsibility. Proof of this is its active participation in foundations and organizations that promote quality management, environment, energy efficiency and R & D collaboration and continuous support for social entities performing their work with the needyis a real responsibility.

Solidarity

For Global Omnium/Grupo Aguas de Valencia, social commitment is a priority. Our awareness about the context reality in which we work has taken us to achieve numerous agreements and partnerships with associations and social organizations with the aim of supporting the great work they do every day with the most disadvantaged.

To this end, agreements have been reached with organizations like Casa de la Caridad de Valencia (House of Charity) with whom we have worked for years with the aim of contributing to the maintenance and promotion of social work carried out; also Intermon and Novaterra, among many others.

Environment and Business

The Global Omnium/Grupo Aguas de Valencia also has partnerships with the Fundación Valenciana de la Calidad and is a member of the Committee on Environment of the Confederation of Business Organizations of the Valencian Community (CIERVAL) and the Innovation Club of Valencia Community.

Among the agreements reached, there is one signed with the Fundación Empresa y Clima, an organization dedicated to helping companies address the problems and challenges required by environmental regulations and climate change, a commitment that is well understood by Global Omnium/Aguas de Valencia.

In this line of environmental protection, also develops various projects among which the holding with Limne Foundation for the recovery of biodiversity in the Ribera Del Turia.

This environmental project, to recover native species of one of the two rivers that supply the city of València and its metropolitan area, is taken forward with actions of corporate volunteering, involving the eradication of invasive species, cleaning and restocking of future typical species of the Mediterranean ecosystem.

Volunteering

The commitment of Global Omnium/Aguas de Valencia to society goes beyond supply management. Its work has managed to encourage and foster the economy of many municipalities, but is work aims to achieve maximum efficiency from the hand of Nature, marrying economic and social development with environmental protection. Both principles have accompanied the Omnium/Grupo Aguas de Valencia in every of its footsteps.

Therefore, the corporate commitment, either social or environmental is a part of its idiosyncrasies. In this spirit, has promoted corporate volunteering in many areas, always with an eye towards sustainability and environmental respect.

Biodiversity

One example is the agreement with the Fundación Limne for the recovery of biodiversity in the River Turia, a deal that includes a full schedule of activities that will run until 2016.

The project that Omnium/Grupo Aguas de Valencia will lead,will focus mainly on the fight against invasive species of the river, some of them considered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature(UICN), as one of the 100 most dangerous and noxious invasive species worldwide. Global Omnium/Aguas de Valencia cooperates also on improving the bank forest in order to contribute to the recovery of the native biodiversity of this Valencian ecosystem.
